Golf Buggies and Lost Keys
Reighton Sands is Haven's park for golfers — 140 acres with a proper 9-hole par-34 course, beautifully landscaped with sea views. It's a smaller, quieter park that attracts a slightly different crowd — couples, retirees, and people who book specifically for the golf. The sea views from the course are genuinely spectacular, especially from the higher holes.
The golf connection means we get a particular kind of call-out here: keys lost on the course. A golfer puts the car key in their golf bag, the bag goes on the buggy, the buggy bounces over 9 holes of fairways and rough — and somewhere around the 7th, the key has worked its way out of a side pocket and is now lying in the rough. Two hours of retracing the round later, we get the call.
The BMW X3 and the Golf Bag
A retired couple from Harrogate booked Reighton Sands specifically for the golf. On the second day, he played 18 holes, put the BMW X3 key in the side pocket of his golf bag, and by the time he'd finished at the 18th green it was gone. The side pocket zip had worked loose over 4 hours of buggy travel. We — rather than a search party with divot tools — were the answer. New X3 key supplied and programmed in the clubhouse car park within the hour.
The Hyundai Tucson and the Checkout Key Panic
A family of four from Manchester were due to check out at 10am. At 9:30am, with the Hyundai Tucson packed and the caravan cleaned, they realised the key wasn't anywhere. It had been on the kitchen worktop the night before. The kids, aged 4 and 6, had been "helping" tidy up — and the 4-year-old had posted the key through the letterbox of a vacant neighbouring caravan. We unlocked the Tucson without damage and cut a new key on site. They checked out at 10:15am, slightly late but mobile. The key was later retrieved from the neighbouring caravan by park staff, but by then they were halfway down the M62.

Reighton Sands stretches across 140 acres, and we've covered every corner of it. We reach the park within 20 minutes — usually faster from the Scarborough side. The park's particular layout — caravans spread across a large site with a golf course running through the middle — means we often navigate golf buggy paths and service roads to reach customers who can't walk back to the main car park. The golf course is the unique risk factor at Reighton Sands, and we've retrieved (or replaced) more keys from fairways, rough, and bunkers than we can count.
