Retrace your steps — properly
Walk the route you took from the car to where you are now. Look on the ground, in the boot, under the seats (through the window), in every pocket and bag. Keys fall out of shallow pockets, gym bags, and coat linings. Check the ignition — they're often still in the barrel.
Check for a spare
The number of people who call us, we arrive, and then they find a spare key in the kitchen drawer — you'd be surprised. Ask your partner, check the key hook, look in the glovebox of your other car.
Don't call a recovery truck
A recovery truck moves the car — but you still don't have a key at the other end. You'll pay £75–£150 for the recovery, then still need a locksmith (or a dealer) to make a key. Call a locksmith directly — we come to the car, make the key on site, and you drive away.

What Happens When We Arrive
We pull up to your car in the mobile workshop van. The whole job happens at your car's location — no recovery, no tow, no "leave it with us."
- We plug the diagnostic tool into your car's OBD port (under the dashboard).
- We read the immobiliser system to understand the key profile the car expects.
- If the car needs online authorisation (BMW, VW, Mercedes, Audi), we run it from the laptop in the van.
- We cut the physical key blade on the van's cutting machine and programme the transponder chip.
- We test the key in the door, ignition, and remote functions — then hand it to you.
The whole process takes 45–90 minutes for most cars. The old lost key is deleted from the immobiliser, so even if someone finds it, the engine won't start.
