Vauxhall Corsa Key
Replacement in Scarborough
The Vauxhall Corsa is one of Britain's most popular cars — and we see them almost daily. We cut and programme Corsa keys for every generation at your home, workplace, or roadside.
Britain's Favourite Small Car — and Its Most Lost Key
The Vauxhall Corsa has been a bestseller in the UK for decades, and around Scarborough they're everywhere — first cars for new drivers, runarounds for families, and the car sitting in every other space at the Brunswick shopping centre. With so many on the road, we replace and programme more Corsa keys than almost any other vehicle.
Corsa keys have evolved significantly across generations. The early Corsa C used a simple transponder chip that's quick to clone. The Corsa D (2006–2014) introduced the remote flip key — a two-button fob that flips out the metal blade. The Corsa E (2014–2019) kept the flip key format but moved to a more secure chip. The current Corsa F (2019 onwards) can use either a flip remote or a proximity smart key depending on trim level.
We stock key blanks and remote fobs for every generation of Corsa, including the Corsa-e electric. Whether you've lost your only key, snapped the blade in the door lock (common on Corsa D models — the flip mechanism wears out), or just need a spare, we'll cut and programme it at your car.

Story from the Road
The Corsa, the College Run, and the Key That Snapped in the Door
A cold December morning in Scarborough, and a mum was about to drop her son at college. She walked out to her 2012 Corsa D, pressed the remote button — the indicators flashed, but the driver's door didn't unlock. She tried the manual key blade in the door lock, turned it, and the key snapped clean off — half in her hand, half still inside the lock barrel.
The Corsa D's flip key mechanism is clever but wears with age. The blade pivots on a small metal pin inside the plastic housing, and after a decade of use, the pin loosens and the blade wobbles. Eventually, under any real force — like turning a door lock that hasn't been used in years because everyone uses the remote — it snaps.
She couldn't get into her car. The broken half of the blade was stuck in the driver's door lock. Her son was going to be late for an exam. She called us at 8:15am and we were there by 8:40am. We extracted the broken blade from the door lock, cut a new key blade on the spot, transferred the transponder chip and remote board into a new flip key shell, and had the car unlocked and running before 9am. Her son made his exam with ten minutes to spare.
We returned the following week to cut her a spare key — a non-remote blade as a backup, so if the remote ever failed again she'd always have a way in. That simple precaution costs a fraction of a full remote key and saves a world of stress.
